Abbe Washburn Langford (1827-1881) of Dardanelle, Yell County, Arkansas, was the daughter of Cephas Washburn, founder of Dwight Misison. Abbe Washburn Langford's brother was Edward Payson Washburn, an Arkansas artist, who painted this portrait.
